Hi Folks, I‘ve been on the look out for a C2 dial and came across this one. It’s pretty much in pristine condition and being sold as NOS. However, I was wondering about it’s authenticity. Thoughts very welcome, thank you!

I have some doubts, but I am no expert. Possibly a reprinted or relumed dial? The lume looks a little thick. The marker @12, the dots either side are almost touching it. Is it likely that a dial that is almost 50 years old be in such pristine condition? The seller can provide no provenance, there is also no original packaging even though it is being sold as NOS.

Hands are also part of the package, they look relumed. At least there seems to be some lume-spill.
I guess I’m answering my own question here 😉

At first glance, I'd say this dial looks good. No obvious telltales of work done to it... until you compare the lume of the hands and dial. Those are suspiciously similar and pleasingly creamy. Doesn't necessary have to indicate a relume, but I would be suspicious and would want to study the dial in detail and use a UV torch as part of that process. Could still be legit.

Thanks for the input. Good tip to check with UV light. Something I wouldn’t be able to do until after purchase unfortunately. All things considered, I think I‘ll walk away from this one.
