Quick question: Does anyone know if all Speedmaster Professional Moonwatches use the same bezel? I own a modern Speedy, the Ref. 311...etc. with hesalite crystal. Was looking to swap out the stock bezel for a pulsations. Thank you in advance!

    Yes they are the same.

Not all bezels fit all models as has been discussed previously...

As I apparently missed that thread... is it just the very latest ones?

More specifically, I am looking to swap this bezel onto a modern hesalite speedy:

I've done a fair amount of bezel-swapping, usually to get the correct bezel on a specific watch, and haven't run across any no-fit issues yet. On OP's particular question, I mounted a pulsations bezel on a 1995 Speedmaster with no problem.

It’s related to the case maker. Modern bezels are not guaranteed to fit on some cases, and the same also goes for some case backs as well. These are not theoretical issues, as I’ve had bezels that would not work on cases before. Mind you I probably remove and replace more bezels than most here...

I met this issue once and I went to a omega shop that I know well and the watchmaker told me exactly the same thing : depending of the case manufacturer it will not fit :
=> bezel too tight : better not trying to modify it
=> bezel too large : with a staking tool you can create 8 « marks » to allow the bezel to stay

Would a modern bezel (B6) fit a mid 80's Speedmaster?

You would need to post the stamp of the case maker, located inside the case back...

I bought my 105.012-66CB without a bezel. I have a modern replacement bezel that I used temporarily. It was to big and came off easily. The DON bezel I purchased fit much better.

Can confirm that there are older bezels that do not fit modern cases. However, the bezel inserts are interchangable...so that's what I did. Not the most professional way of going about it, but it works!

So just to be clear, would my Speedmaster accept a modern replacement bezel since it isn't stamped with 'LL' or 'MRSA'. (It seems to be marked with CRS)

Not according to Omega. As I noted in the other thread though, sometimes the only way to know for sure is to try it.

    Cheers, Al
