Hi everyone! I just purchased a brand new Speedmaster LE Apollo XVII, and decided to join the forum here to share my experience. I really like this watch as I wear it. I have been eyeballing it for a week and I was not able to convince myself to fork over money chielfy because the chronograph function on it is not very clear and is hard to read. Today I decided and bought the watch for its LE value and looks NOT chronograph. I must say 7 hours into wearing this watch I liked it more. This is my second Omega. The other one is Constellation automatic diamond dial in two tone bracelet. I have worn that for years now. What are your thoughts on apollo xvii?
I think he means this one.... I had one of these for a nano second... Then I sold it! I won't go in to why. Welcome to the forum by the way and wear yours in good health!
Thank you. Lets hear why you sold it. Its always interesting to hear different prepectives. I would have really like it more it had a power reserve indicator.
There's a lot of people that don't like that LE because of the increased difficulty in reading it but I've always been one of the fans of it. Possibly the most uniquely different of all the LEs and definitely a prominent reminder of the NASA history. Congrats on your new watch
Well - i like that LE, too. Please add some pics, i want so see how ist looking like in real live situations Welcome at the Omegaforum! Hans
Quite simple really... Hated the thing. It's near impossible to read the time in certain light and if you need to quickly glance at it.
That I do agree with. In fact that like i mentioned before, it was the reason I held off on it for a while.
A really sharp piece but I would need reading glasses to see the time. My first Speedmaster was the Apollo 11 35th anniversary. The watch has a very light silver/white dial with metal hands. It was easy to read in my early forties but with the need for reading glasses I rarely wear the watch now.
