    Hi guys,

My brother in law sent me these images for a watch that he has seen for sale, asking my advice......there are no movement shots.

He's told that this is a 90's watch in the sales ad?, it's priced at £1595.............is this bracelet correct for this watch or is the clasp from a 'reduced' model?

Any opinions of the watch from the pics below would be much appreciated! We're having trouble finding anything within this price bracket and realise it's going to be a compromise on condition!

Many thanks for any words of wisdom!

Looks like it's more of an 80's model with 1450 bracelet and long S dial.

Not a bad price at all. I'd just want to confirm that the ding on the bezel at 8 o'clock hasnt also damaged the case.

I concur, 80's model with correct bezel. Case looks to be unpolished as well.

Providing the movement is in good condition, it looks fine to me and probably priced about right. The bezel would annoy me and I'd want to replace it with the correct pattern (+£300) and get it serviced (+£300). That would end up £2200 which is not bad for a decent, serviced Speedmaster from this period.

Decent price. I'd think about buying it if you pass.

The dial is a late 76 through late 80's? Dial. I don't have my bezel chart handy.

I don't have any references handy either, but fairly confident that the bezel pattern is 1969 through to the early '80s.

    It's a correct '80s Speedmaster.

As always and rarely mentioned... without a serial number or caseback photo you can never be sure it's not a frankenwatch. You can only say correct for a range.

You may well have 'but it', as the eBay listing has now been pulled prior to the auction end.

I guess one of the pitfalls of not knowing enough about Speedmaster's and having to ask!

I do appreciate the input though, thanks again to those that responded.

I don't know if I'm going mad, but the dropped R on the OPs pic looks different to the dial on my 76. 2016-06-02 17.19.11.jpg
