Looks great to me, razor sharp lugs and factory blue coating on back of watch implies it hasn't been worn much. Would be nice to see a movement shot, but some watches just make all the right noises regardless and this is one of them.
Only downside is it's likely to go for nearer to double the estimate.

Agree with the two fellows above....5 yrs ago, you may have been close with your top end price...but these days you're looking at paying close to double...

Great patina on the dial, case is super sharp. If it fits your price point it would be a nice addition to your collection.

Still a decent price considering what's being advertised here on the forum lately for 1990s Speedmasters!

Correct me if i'm wrong but the bezel isn't period correct for an 88? I always thought the non-accented bezel was only made between 1970-1975?

Bezel's all good, that style ran through the 1980s also. So contemporary to the above watch, 1989 20th anniversaries have them too.
I'm sure someone else will be along with the exact cut-off year, but sometime in the 90s they switched to the later style.

This is a true gem. Dont worry about the price payed. I doubt there will be a Speedmaster price bubble any time soon. Congratulations.

Beautiful Speedy with the right bezel. From '80 Omega sold the Speedmaster with bracelet ref.1450 (808 end links). It looked just like the ref.1171 but had links that were more round. I've noticed that your Speedy has 633 end links from '70. What kind of bracelet is mounted on?
