Seen a nice 69ST 145.022 1971 coming up at auction soon at www.watchesofknightsbridge.com with est of $3.5-5k +20% fees. Has anyone any experience of this auction house.
In the discription is has the term 'Scritte Dritte' but no definition of this term. I have seen it quoted here and other forums online but cant find a definition........
    Tks, M

Seems oddly attached to this watch going back to 2007. At least the pics all seem to be this exact watch. Looks like the current sellers has been trying to sell it for about a year.

The WIS community has nicknamed it "scritte dritte" so the auction house probably just picked up on that :)

Tks William, I've read '101' top to bottom and it's an invaluable reference. Unfortunately my Italian is not the best so didn't connect the dots "scritte dritte" and "straight writing"

I have bought several watches from WoK. Their photography is not particularly good but if you read their condition report in the back of the catalogue, they are honest to the best of their knowledge.

I did business with Knightsbridge a year ago. No issues. I purchased a Speedie that had passed in auction. Shipping to US via FedEx, fully insured, was a bit pricey but fully disclosed up front. Watch arrived fine. Nice people to deal with over phone and and via emails.

That being said, they are an auction house. You must do your due diligence, ask questions, request additional photos in advance. Buyer Beware.

"Watch idiot savant" = watch nerds, i.e. you and me, and everyone else here!
