Hi, First time poster. Got a new job recently and decided to take the plunge and buy a speedy. I am thinking of the Speedmaster '57 (link below) and would appreciate thoughts of other members. Would this be a good first buy? http://www.omegawatches.com/collect...a-co-axial-chronograph-41-5-mm/33110425101002 Thanks all
Great movement, great watch, and especially that particular version that was just released with the broad arrow hands is stunning, I think its an excellent choice.
Its a great watch, but have you considered the reissue 3594.50? I think if you like a bit of a vintage looks, that's the way to go.
That's the same watch I'm looking to get. Has the new 9300 movement. Sapphire cristal. And the vintage/retro look similar to the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial.
I saw this in person very nice I did not look at the bracelet. I winder if it is the butterfly or the clasp?
I would disagree with the group here... A lot depends on where this watch fits for you. Will it be your one watch? If so, I would go non-broad arrow '57.. The patina effect is cool as hell, but doesn't transition from dress to casual as well as the gloss dial black 57 might... The latter would also accept a black strap and vintage-esque brown as well as the SS... The dial on the Broad arrow is a 'rate limiting reagent' ... Can't dress it up that much. If this is going to be the first of many, then heck yeah! The BA is awesome!!!
Thanks for the comments! I decided to buy this model and placed an order yesterday! Should be ready to collect in a couple weeks.
+ 1 As I wouldn't remove it ... Watch (and hand) safely stored at the boutique Not to worry a return trip is planned
