I have found a Speedmaster Mark 4.5 online for a decent price, but am wondering if the box/papers don't come from another watch?

It's advertised as a Mark 4.5, but the manual in the photo says Speedmaster Mark V on it. Is that normal for this model ? Or is the seller likely putting the wrong paperwork together with a 4.5 and trying to sell it as "with box and papers" ?

Kidding aside, it is much easier the get answers if you post pictures of the watch and the accompanying papers.

It’s very common for any cal. 1045 to come with Mark V instructions. It is also very common for sellers to put together papers or booklets from different sources and say they were original to the watch. Not sure if it matters unless it is a true collector’s full set: box, papers, receipt, tags, warranty papers, instructions, and most importantly a watch that is in original condition.

Thanks. one other question, is is normal that the back of the watch is sort of shiny, and not matte ?

Ie, was the back polished ?

Unfortunately they sell box and papers online and people don't even look if is cohesive/correct or not ...

Just looked at my mkIV, IVmkII and mk V and all have brushed surfaces running north-south with the Hippocampus, the mkV has polished shoulders.

Thanks @tikkathree (and everyone else of course!)

I watched a video from WatchBox Reviews where the person talking said that the 4.5 was a 4 case with movement out of a 5, so maybe that explains the mention of the 5 on the paperwork?
