Hi folks, There's currently a Speedmaster listed on ebay Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Networkby a reputable seller (sabashioyakiz1). The model number is 3594.50, and it is labelled as an 'Italian Limited Model'. The 3594.50 should have Broad Arrow hands, and a different dial, so is this truly a special model produced for an Italian market? Or it is an aftermarket modification of dial and hands? The listing does say the original hands are in the package, so most likely the hands are changed, but did that white dial really come with that watch? I could not find any mention of such Italian version for the 3594.50 on Chuck Maddox's website, although he does mention a few other special Italian limited edition models. I am curious as I actually find the watch somewhat attractive...
Funny.....but I don't see any Italian words on that dial ......only English. Perhaps the watch surrenders the time on a daily basis and quite readily.
The "Italian dial" refers to the dial being from a limited edition of 500 white dial Speedmasters issued to the Italian market only. This looks like a nice watch, but it is only a straightforward issue Speedy with a couple of modifications.
Here is an example of the Italian LE: http://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/sp...ia&dosearch=true&urlSubpath=/search/index.htm
There's quite a few Italian and Japanese only LE editions, wish we had more collectors from those regions
Also notice that the hands are dark grey which is the correct colour for this dial Al is currently building my white dial Speedy
Well the two watches posted are quite different - one has a black bezel and has a serial number of 48374523, and the other has a silver bezel and the serial number is 77059773. Seems odd that they would be that far apart in terms of the serial numbers. The 4837 number does not come up on the Extranet, but the 7705 does, and it's shown as a black dialed Speedy with Broad Arrow hands, so I would personally be wary of that one.... Cheers, Al
I am - however the hands are giving me fits trying to find them, so I have gone with Plan B for the 3 sub-dial hands as we had discussed. Cheers, Al
Looks like the consensus is that it's a modified one, rather than the real Italian LE shown on Chrono24. I must say the Italian LE on chrono24 is very attractive especially with the display back, but sadly waaay beyond my budget Thanks everyone!
Sorry I should have been clearer in my original post. The OP's link is definitely not the Italian LE, just a modified regular watch & therefore of limited appeal.
No worries Spiki, you were pretty clear the 1st time round, and I understood you perfectly As always, the level of expertise in this forum is amazing.
IMO this Alaska project is cooler than the Italian dial version http://omegaforums.net/threads/omeg...onal-alaska-project-311-32-42-30-04-001.5626/
