Not for ebay but I bet it sells for that on Christies or Sothebys. Problem there is the seller nets maybe 50-60% of the final price.
Auctions are a rip off. But they know they have you by the short and curlys because of the amount of exposure...
Nice watch but the case will need some laser welding on the case thread as corrosion has made it unsealable. Nice looking piece though albeit I like the -1 and -2 with the silver 1000 bezels more.
Agreed about the attractiveness of the -1 and -2 variants - more money though and from what I've seen the -3 is probably the one produced in the smallest numbers of the 3.
I think when you get down to it, the people with genuine interest in buying a 2915 at this point are looking for condition in any of the three variants more than anything, and if you happen to find a mint all original -1 you've hit the jackpot. The patina on this piece does look rather exquisite and fitting for a grandfather Speedmaster.
condition not good for the asking price. needs to be 30% lower. but it`s always a question of demand and supply.... kind regards. achim
