This... OK, so it has replacement hands, bezel, and dial and with only a single photo, who knows what the movement is like... Could the dial be a service item fitted maybe in the early 1970s? Or do we reckon it's a frankenspeedy…? Estimate was €900, buyers premium 25%. It hammered at €8700 to someone in the room. A bargain?
I was the one in the room. I will keep you guys updated. Possible 2915 or 2998 case. 105 dial Later hands 24 teeth flat foot crown. 2915-2 caseback Movement number to high for 2915-2, maybe 2998. will order an Extract. DNN Bezel original flat foot Logo crystal Not sure about the pushers. 1035 bracelet with 506 endlinks. I did not buy this for me. I was bidding on behalf of the watch dealer i‘m working with in Frankfurt. Cheers, Max
@ewand thank you! Btw this was very close to our set limit. Nice little battle, my heart was definitely beating.
Yes the estimate was extremely low. But you could see live in their faces that they didn’t expect this watch to go this high. They are more known for their Art and Jewelry auctions and not for watches. Very friendly staff I have to say, professionally organized small family auction house.
Update: Some of you might have seen it already, and some of you already contacted me, thanks for the interest so far . For all who might have missed it, and need/want some parts: It‘s on ebay now. I advised the dealer to strip the watch as some buyers might only be interested in one or two parts and to put it up for 1€ and let the auction run it‘s course. If you have any questions, I‘m happy to discuss anything here openly. Mods: I think it is okay to post the info here that it is on ebay now, some have already seen it and asked me about it so why not have an open discussion here. If not please feel free to delete. Cheers, Max
