Something tells me the buyer will not be deterred by these fees.

    I was joking....

    That's mind blowing money.

    Quite a few pieces unsold.

Impressed with the final hammer price but not surprised. Excellent examples will continue to command top dollar.

That was fun to watch. Did we just see the perceived value of all decent vintage Omegas rise with auction result? Any thoughts on the other Omega prices at Bukowskis today.

I don't think this affects anything other than a 2915 in similar condition or possibly 2998-1/2's that are rare and in perfect condition. It's a numbers game...there are plenty of mint condition 105.003/105.012/145.022's out there...there are maybe ten 2915-1's in condition like this and the other nine likely haven't even surfaced yet...

the only learning is ... top watch top dollar ... and i think a lot of people already know but this was a perfect chance to compare as the other 2915 was a lot less than the beauty ....

WORLD RECORD FOR AN OMEGA SPEEDMASTER 2915-1

    FINAL PRICE OF 2 266 250 SEK
Bukowskis internationally noticed highlight, an untouched and never renovated Omega Speedmaster 2915-1, became todays sensation with the incredible final price of 2 266 250 SEK. Bukowskis is proud to now hold the new world record for an Omega Speedmaster 2915-1 and the watch is the most expensive ever to be sold at Bukowskis.

It is a remarkable sale that shows that Bukowskis Important Timepieces auction reaches an international audience and has an offer that attracts buyers and sellers at the absolute top tier, says Louise Arén, CEO Bukowskis

The enormously awaited watch was made on the 6th of June 1958 and was handed in to Bukowskis after the owners son, unknowing of its worth, had found the watch in a box in the attic.

To have the opportunity to follow this watch up close, from when and how it was found to it being sold today at the staggering price of 2 266 250 SEK feels amazing. It really dosen’t get any better than this, absolute world class! says Nina Westerlund, Head specialist watches.

The last time an Omega Speedmaster 2915-1 of this quality was sold at auction was at Christie’s in 2015 which resulted in the then record, with a final price of $137 000, approximately 1 100 000 SEK.

A watch of this caliber is among the worlds most sought after collector items within the watch world and it is an indescribable feeling to beat the world record. It is going to be some time before we see another watch of this quality in Sweden and Bukowskis is proud to have had such success with the sale, says Carl Palmegren Associate Specialist watches.
