https://www.chronext.co.uk/omega/speedmaster/145-012-67/10401 Hi, I am considering the watch in the attached thread but would be very grateful for the thoughts of the Forum as to whether is genuine or not. For me the bezel is not a DON, is it therefore a replacement? Hands, eg the chronograph hand is the square end but I believe this did appear on later versions? Should it have a stepped dial, not sure this does? The hour markers appear to have been "extended" to represent the correct appearance. Or would you say they look to be original? Many thanks!
I am no where close o being an expert on these, but you have valid concerns. Have you checked it out against SpeedMaster101.com? I'm sure you have. In my total lack of knowledge of these watches, I would refer you there. But for a '67, DON bezel, stepped dial should be present. Pictures can deceive and it may be a stepped dial. but as is, no case back shots to confirm reference. Lume looks way to white for me, very newish. Would need more pictures to know for sure. But then the all knowing SpeedMaster gods will arrive shortly and correct or confirm what I had said.
Yes, hour markers look distinctly dubious.............I would definitely pass on this one and it ain't exactly cheap
Its a kite Deceptive and fraudulent, overpriced and tells me more about the seller than meeting him would.
Wrong bezel and service hands. The dial looks like the correct type, with step, but it looks relumed to me. Case also looks freshly polished and the crown is t just the modern service item, it's too small. Looks like it might've had a hard life. Pic because threads with links are useless after a few weeks.
If you look closely, you can see that the lume doesn't even line up properly with the markers on the dial.
You should not buy this watch. Wrong bezel. Wrong hand(s). Dial is very very suspect. Oh, did I mention that the dial is very suspect. It looks like the plots have been touched up, poorly.
If if tells you anything, I picked up a nice example 145.012-67 for a lot less last week. They are out there, keep looking
