I've been watching the prices of these bracelets, and they seem to continue climbing over past few months. I'm wondering if it's worth investing in multiple examples of these bracelets to hold onto for safekeeping. Thoughts?

Never experienced one myself, but at over $1K for just the bracelet, it's a significant value addition on an '80s Speedmaster. I guess a lot of people like them as being the most comfortable and best bracelet for the Speedmaster. But I think you will find around here that most people prefer to wear theirs with period correct bracelets on their vintage pieces.

I can't say I like the idea of buying any watches or parts for investment purposes.

Buy one if you like it and intend to use it. Don't buy it if you're speculating that it'll earn you a few quid. It may well not increase in value, and you're taking pieces away from those that may be looking for one for use/enjoyment

Is it really a universal opinion that it's the most comfortable bracelet? I think it's good, but I don't know about being the most comfortable. I think some of the newer bracelets have better clasps.

it's a nice bracelet. personally, I like to have a spare (of just about anything/everything) if at all possible. not for investment purposes so much as in case something bad happens to the one I'm wearing. whether that's worth the price is for you to decide yourself.

Prices of the watches that they originally came on are rising quite steadily too.
Why not invest in multiple examples of those, just for safe keeping of course.

I have one on a 1988 Speedmaster. It's quite comfortable, but no more than an 1171. The 808 end links, however, are much beefier and more "integrated" looking than 633's. I like it because it's rare. As the Church Lady says, "Isn't that special?!"

I greatly prefer the look of the 1450.

The 1447 is more rare than the 1450. It is just the first solid link bracelet with all brushed finished so it is a mix of the contruction of the 1171 and the 1479 all in one

I have a 1447 and they do appear to be rare and I heard more comfortable than a 1450 due to smaller links ::stirthepot:: :D

I was trying to find a spare link for my 1447 but have pretty much given up, the 1450 however still seem to see links etc available.

Also, I have fitted to one of my Speedmasters, the 808 end links from the 1450 with a 1171 bracelet. The 1171 has about 1mm smaller links than the 1450 but fits fine and hard pushed to see the small gap.

One of my favorite daily wearers is a late 80's speedy, that came originally with the 1450.
Also have a 1447, that I tried on for some time, but returned back to the 1450. I think it suits the watch better... and for me the 1447 wasn't that comfortable.
Have/have had speedy's with most of the old bracelets and also a couple of newer ones. Still think the 1450 bracelet suits the moonwatch best. Vintage taper, solid endlinks and a little more heft than all the previous ones...but not to much, like the newer ones have IMO.

    @pascs
I think I might have an extra spare link for the 1447 somewhere. Will have a look in the boxes in the weekend and let you know.

    1447 and 1450 below.

Great bracelet. Investment? Not so much. Say in 5 years time it goes up from 1000 to 1500. Cool but not exactly life changing.

I adore the 1450... got my first one recently and love wearing it. Super comfy, and I think it looks great. Clasp is flimsy and the bracelet does get stretched out, but I can live with those deficiencies.

The price on these is all @Robert-Jan 's fault btw, he recommended it as the best vintage looking but solid and wearable bracelet and explained how limited the production was in an article years ago and it's been popular ever since.

Has anyone had any experience with getting a 1450 bracelet restored?

I have been looking for the 1450 bracelet for a while, and honestly i'm getting depressed over how hard it is. C'est la vie..Or what do you say?

    Good day,

I just want to asked if this bracelet is a legit or original 1447 (805 end Links). Is the watch is also original?

    Thanks
