Hi Guys,
I am looking for a 145.022-78, and the thing here is that it has to have a 1980 production year.
So an extract would be perfect.
We might work this out if there isn't any, and I have found a few with serial nr 448XXXXX,
so it should be around that number?
And the condition of the watch starts from Very Good (Speedmaster101).

And Yepp - Birth Year watches are stupid…But you know me!
A deal in Europe would be the most suitable, but everything can be worked with.
Looking foward to your answers!

Hans

I dont think you are allowed another buy so fast after your previous one 😁 but as soon as you have clearance maybe an 145 0022 is an option as well ? On C24 ;

Birth year watches aren't stupid! 😀 Just go for what gives you that fizzy sensation.
Being a 1980 boy myself, first i found it's a lame year to choose vintage watches from, but then re-valuated. Selection may not be as wide as for say a sixties or seventies child, but there have been a lot of great watches made then.
I currently own a CWC chrono, issued to the Royal Navy in 1980, or just think of the Maxi dial Rolsubs, early CWC divers, or the Speedy for that matter. Not too old for a daily beater, but old enough to sport that yellow lume. Supercool.
And you can say they're the same age as you, how cool is that..?! 😀
For me the only catch with a potential '80 Speedy was the lack of the step dial - a detail I'm hopelessly in love with. Not to mention the moonlanding connection of a '69 - so when it comes to Speedy, I'm sticking with my -69ST. But regardless, I do consider a birthyear a huge plus, when it comes to selecting watches.
Good luck with your quest, hope you find a nice one!

Nice one that you have, but it really needs to be a 1980...

Sorry mate!

And clearance is ok for this hunt (and ONLY for this one...😉)!

Hi @levkov ,
I can only agree with you!
And the watch that I am looking for is actually a gift for my little brother!
The poor bastard only has brand new watches, and this would be a nice gesture to "fool" him in to the vintage world!
😁

Not my watch ! but just an example for this different reference number that may not come up on a search for 145.022. The 0022 can also come from 1980 i think, good hunting !

Spotted this earlier today, in USA not EU, but...
Omega Speedmaster Professional "Drop R" 145.022-78 - vintage, ca. 1980, highly desirable model in EXC | WatchUSeek Watch Forums
Just to emphasize that I have no relation with the seller what-so-ever, and have not looked closely at the watch to see if it is all correct, etc.
I leave you to be the judge of that, if you are interested of course!
Good luck in your search 👍
@Enzo
Thanks for your help,
I will look at this one!

Cheers!
