I have reluctantly decided to let go of this very nice example Speedmaster 145.022-71. I'm slowly selling off any references I have more than one of, also I purchased two other Omegas last week so....
In my opinion this is an exceptionally attractive and very original example. It came from the original owner and I've done nothing to it since purchase.

Case: Very nice, probably unpolished, with nice edges and brushed finish still visible on correct areas. Has been worn so there are light marks here and there. Case back exterior markings show evidence of the original purple seal that protected the case back during production and during transit in the engravings so I think it can't have been worn or over cleaned much. Case back has correct stamping outside and in.

Bezel: Near perfect example and correct for the reference.

Dial: Pristine. No damage that I can see and lovely coloured lume. Correct step-dial for this reference. Very attractive and a stand out feature of this watch.

Hands: All correct for the reference. On close inspection the chrono hand looks cleaner than the others and I suspect it was repainted and relumed at some point. All the other hands are tritium with aged white finish.

Pushers: Original, most likely on the watch from new looking at the barrels.

Crown: Correct and most likely original from new.

Crystal: Original Hesalite plexi with early Omega logo in centre. There are some light marks and one longer mark around the 2 o'clock area that could be polished out quite easily. Correct black armour ring.

Movement: Correct c.861 serial: 32198***. Was serviced just prior to my purchase and had a new main spring fitted. They only serviced the movement, nothing else was changed. Looks very clean and currently all functions work correctly and it keeps time.

Dust cover: Correct, very clean and most likely original from new.

Strap: Hand made Italian leather with Omega buckle (I think the buckle is aftermarket.) I have many other straps and you are welcome to choose a different style/colour.

In summary my opinion is that this is a very attractive looking Speedy in very nice condition and exceptionally original. My belief is that all parts most likely left the factory together with the only exception being the chrono hand which is either replaced or repainted. Ready to put on your wrist and enjoy.

My asking price is £3,950 gbp (net) delivery included. No guarantee of ongoing functionality is given and the watch is of course unlikely to be waterproof (I didn't need to say that did I?)
Thanks for looking and thanks to OF for the Forum.
