Speedmaster 145.022-71 (I think)

This Speedmaster just sold on a local auction for $2,760 (or $3,450 when including the auctioneers 25% commission).

The only two available photographs are poor, and there was no movement image provided, nor any other information forthcoming, but to me it looks like a 145.022-71?

It was apparently serviced with a 12 month guarantee.

I didn't chase up the veracity of this as unfortunately I have already bought my watch quota for the year so wasn't intending to bid, but of course like watching these sales for my own education.

Speedmaster101's price chart puts the value at $2,800 (for a fair example) and $4,200 (for a good example), which I think this piece falls in somewhere between.

To me it seems like someone got a pretty good deal though?

With total in at $3450 I wouldn’t say bargain in today’s market

If it came with a flat link bracket I’d say bargain but not the watch head only.

The dial and hands are only ‘fair’ to my eyes.

The case is uncertain from those pics and the movement unknown. Certainly can’t price that anywhere near a ‘good’ example from the information available.

Seems like someone overpaid for that condition, especially with no bracelet, and in this —imo— buyers market.
