    Hello all,

After a lot of research and looking through many listings, I'm very close to pulling the plug on a Speedmaster 145.022 and have narrowed down my search to two pieces. I've done the commonly known Speedmaster checks on them (Bezel, reference number, etc.) and would love to get the forum members POV on which one they'd buy if the prices were similar. I do plan to keep this watch for the foreseeable future unless some drastic happens. I've attached the picture of the two pieces for reference too - If anyone sees irregularities on them, please flag them here too.

    1) 145.022 - 69: The watch is in really good original condition with DO90 bezel with no polish or additional services done to it. It has a name engraved on the case back which is probably the one negative.

    2) 145.022 - 70 or 71: This watch has been serviced and lightly polished. Omega has replaced the hands, pushers, crown, and crystal of the watch. What makes this interesting to me is that this has the misprint bezel with the 220, not the 200.

    Thanks!

Have you checked the asking prices against the price chart at Speedmaster101.com? Remember that you should be reducing the value for incorrect or replacement parts.

Need better and more pictures. The 220 bezel appears to have luminova hands. I’m not able to do a valuation from those pictures.

220 appears to have a modern 1171/1 bracelet. The 69 has a much more valueable bracelet. These both affect price vs speedmaster101.

The photos are really bad. I can't even see the step on the -69 dial.

I did. Still negotiating the price for it. So far the price is slightly above the recommended levels on Speedmaster101.

The -69 is hands-down the more desirable piece IMO. It's attractive overall, the bezel and case are great, and the bracelet is valuable.

The -71 definitely appears to have SL replacement hands and there may be some lume-loss on the dial (although the photos are so saturated, it's hard to be sure). It has also been polished and dealer-prepped in a way that I don't like.

It would be helpful to know the serial numbers and what is written inside the case-back. If the 220 bezel is on a -71, that's not correct.

The serial number for '69' is 305xxxxx (which makes it a 71/72?) and for the other one it's Serial Number: 305xxxxx

So they are both reference 145.022-69 then, not -71. Both bezels could be correct, but more digits in the serial numbers would be needed to confirm.

Am I reading these reference number and association with the watch years wrong based on this link?

    For DON - 30585 and for 220 Bezel - 30593

With or without including the bracelet? How are you grading it?

Irrespective of the desirability of both references, the first watch with the DoN is a far superior example.

That is very outdated. I suggest you consult speedmaster101 or moonwatchonly. In your initial post, you seemed to imply a 145.022-70 reference, and of course there is no such thing. So yes, you have a mis-understanding about Speedmaster references. Keep reading.

Those serial numbers plausibly match the bezels.

That's where I'm leaning towards. I don't know what to think about the engraving on the case. Now I wish my name was Bruce :p

You will get better advice if you provide pricing information.

Both are ~ $7000 which for the DON based on speedmaster101 seemed to be in the ballpark. I'm not sure how to account for the case engraving. The DNN seems to be very high, but not sure how much premium a unique bezel should we worth. Love your feedback on this.

I think that's a fair asking price for the DON given that the bracelet is worth roughly $1500.

I don't really put much additional value on the 220 bezel, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, the watch with the 220 bezel is not desirable to me overall, and I would advise that you just forget about it.
