An Omega Speedmaster 125 - Reference 178.0002 has come up for auction locally and I thought I'd check in with the wise minds of Omega Forums before I put in a bid.

The watch seems to be in a pretty original state, albeit with a scratch or two here and there. I have asked the auction house to pop the back off it but they're unwilling to do it so it really is a case of trusting/hoping that the outer ‘original’ state reflects the inner state.

Do any of you see any issues with the watch or the price, the entry bid is $2400USD with a buyers premium of 20%.

Thanks in advance and here's wishing you all a lovely day/evening.
Matt

I would pass, given the combination of price, and replacement bracelet.

I'd pass. $2400 is already about market for these, and this doesn't have the right bracelet. It LOOKS like it is in good shape other than noone bothered to clean the crusties off it.

For not much more than $2400 I'd expect timegrapher results + a good look at the movement.

Thank you all for the feedback, I thought I’d done my research but I totally overlooked the bracelet which would have been a very expensive mistake.

Thanks again. Your advice is much appreciated.
