·I bought a Speedmaster at auction in UK in July 2024. I knew it was a ‘conglomerate’ or ‘frankenwatch’ watch (whichever you prefer) when I bought it. I’m restoring several watches to be correct.
It has:
Case and caseback: HF 105.002 caseback , not 105.002-62 SC . The master part of the speedmaster logo is partially worn. On the inside, the double bezel caseback has 6 or 7 sets of watchmakers servicing marks. The caseband looks like original A1 symmetrical with straight lugs and is only lightly polished. Width between lugs is 19mm.
Any views on the caseback?
