My connection isn't stellar at the moment, I can only upload 1 pic at a time...what a tease, I know!

I was told that the rivets on the box with the big "X" on them were meant to be representative of the visual reference markings etched on the windows of the Apollo and Soyouz spacecraft, and used during the rendezvous and docking maneuvers. Don't know if that is really true, but so said an enthusiastic sales rep at the Botique.

Another aside: I think Omega was a real pioneer in the art of boxing their specialty products; maybe that's where Steve Jobs learned about artistic boxing.

I agree that the box is great...

But you have to wear it to get the full wow factor...

I'd like to say thanks to @Taddyangle for giving me some really great information when I was looking for this watch. I can't believe I now own something that isn't of this earth! I'd also like to say thanks to my wife for enabling, even if she did say "that's it now"...for now! But even if this is indeed "it", I love my first and maybe only Speedmaster, the Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary; the Speediorite. :)

I bought it from Paul at Watches of Wales in Cardiff. He was really friendly and I was pleased with the service, and deal, I got. As an aside, he tried to tempt me with this too...

I was in the shop a month ago looking for a few links for a bracelet. I saw this watch in the window, I still couldn't get excited about it, but glad you like it. He did have a nice rolex that caught my eye.

Congratulations, and welcome to the 'Out of This World'-Master Club!

Mine says 'привет'! (Russian, for 'Hi'!)

I was tempted by that model as well. Those meteorite dials are nice!

I didn't. My wife was accommodating enough as it was, I think that would have tipped her over the edge! ;)
I know there are a lot of Aussies on here. Sorry guys but that was a thrashing (like a 5 nil whitewash, I know, I know)

I can't help thinking when I see these that it must have required nerves of steel by whoever at Omega was responsible for crafting the dials.

    Congrats!

Enablers need to help others by enabling. This message board will continue to grow if we keep enabling.

When will you be buying the Panda? You should also look at the Gemini 4.

Beautiful and congrats! Enjoy it in good health! Does Omega has any other meteorite dial watches in their other models? Haven't been able to see any other models other than the Soyuz, know Rolex and Invicta have several models on their lineup.
