    Hello
    Dear all members,
After several times missed the chances purchase watches from this gorgeous forum, I finally bought Speedmaster 125 from local.
What do you guys think this one?
    The serial numbers is 35.xxx.xxx
    Ref 378.0801
22 Jewels and Adj to 5 positions
    Bracelet number 1221/212
How about the case? Polished slightly or heavily?
    Any other opinions?

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards,
    Lukmin Ko

Nice....love it. It still have its original brushed top patter, means it never been polished. Clean movt and intact rubber seal. Go for it if the price is right

    Thanks bro HP and ock2915.
How about the green-ish on the rotor and back chronograpgh buttons? Dirt or moist?

Green tinge on rotor could mean moisture in the case at some time, but if it hasn't affected the rest of the movement just get it cleaned at the next service.

Green on the pushers is just from normal wear where perspiration and moisture and dust build p and lead to corrosion.

Can be cleaned off with soft wool thread or dental floss/tape.

+ 1 with Jim. Unfortunately it is very common to have this "surface" corrosion in tropical area. even if all seal is in good condition.

If the watch is 35 million it is from 1973, which means the case back is a later replacement.
Sorry to bring the bad news.
Other than that it is a fine one.

What do you mean by "case back is a later replacement"? Where did you get that information from?

Can't say anything that the experts haven't already except that it looks very nice. I've been looking for one of these in a not very serious way.
They appear at auction quite often but never when I'm in the country (UK or Switzerland).
I've never seen one in the metal. Are they as massive as I've been told ? What are they like to wear ?

Would it be possible to put a leather strap on that?

A non-replacement case back should look something like this.

Do you have a source that says the first one is a replacement instead of from just another batch or another manufacturer altogether?

Hmm...TNT, that is a good point. I don't think I have a definitive source except that during my search for one of these, I came across a listing from a seller that noted one with the OP case back to be a service one. Whereas most of the ones that I have seen are of the smaller font engravings. I take it that is accurate given that the Omega logo does kind of reflect the older style. But your assumption that it could be from another manufacturer is possible.

BTW, do you also have one of the one similar to the OP?

I do not have one, but I've seen both types. The first one here may very well be a service item but I just want to see some reliable confirmation.
