Hi all - My local newspaper, The Miami Herald, ran this special advertising section in today's edition. http://newspaperads.miami.com/SS/Page.aspx?secid=126117&pagenum=1&sstarg=&facing=false&&a= I suspect a few jewelers got together for a head start on Black Friday shopping. Really didn't think it would be very good, but to my surprise, it's not a bad section for a newbie to read. Some pretty good information on the inner working of mechanical watches. Lots of advertising pages but good reading overall - the section titled Victorious Vintage is right on target! There are some sharp-looking and elegant pieces shown here like the non-diamond Ulysse Nardin (page 13)
Thanks for posting this - a good read! No mention of Japanese watches either - Orient watches right now are in my opinion very under-appreciated for having a simple, low cost, easy to maintain in-house automatic movement. Of course the advertisers in this section probably don't sell them.
