13 Minutes to Launch! I always feel like a little kid again during these launches. Godspeed to the crew!
Nominal orbit insertion, successfully recovered stage one! Setting alarm to make sure I can watch docking with ISS in 27hours from now! Great stuff
Thanks for the heads-up. I thought the launch was yesterday and we had missed it. I saw your post and we brought it up on the TV less than 5 minutes before launch.
I’d feel better flying it if it had a stick, handlebars or a steering wheel. I know I won’t be at the controls during this lifetime but it would give me a sense of security. I’m not real hip on the flying iPhone thing.
It might be a little late in the evening, but I'll be tuning in about 11pm EST Monday to watch the docking procedure. I remember stumbling upon the shuttle docking with the ISS, they had it on a TV in an office I was doing a project in...stopped me in my tracks, and when I reflexively said "Woooooowwww!" all the heads in the office popped up from their cubicles like a field full of prairie dogs! Everyone stopped working for about 15 minutes and just watched in awe.
Indeed they do...but it ain't! As someone that builds data centers for a living, having worked my way up (by sticking my nose in to every trade on the job site) and gathering enough knowledge about electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and network engineering, and data center operations, to successfully guide clients to a workable solution in an acceptable timeline for delivery...I know NOTHING compared to the collective brains involved with this program. These people are awe inspiring!
I still wish they would/could clean up the viewing issue with the first stage recovery landing. have fun kfw
Head to www.nasa.gov/nasalive It is live but you can go back in time and watch live (again) for anyone that missed or want to rewatch any part of the past day
@scv55 pointed out that Hopkins was wearing a Speedy Pro https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-pro-on-spacex-crew1-commander-mike-hopkins.122663/
On a steel bracelet? That's brave! what if he has to go on an EVA? Can you imaging what it would be like changing straps in space!?
Crazy. I have a hard time working on them here, but I probably wouldn’t spend as much time on the floor looking for screws there....
