Thanks @Walrus for drawing this to our attention. It’s really a big deal that SpaceX is the chosen contractor because of their reputation for actually getting things done in a surprisingly short time, unlike the traditional NASA mega-contractors of the past. I wonder which SpaceX location will benefit most - L.A., Texas, or maybe both?

I can say Texas is hiring a boatload of engineers. My wife was contacted by a head hunting company that is looking for engineers “to work on space landing projects for a Texas based company.” Since its head hunters they don’t mention the company.

I think it’s ok to post this. I mean eventually they will need to figure out what watches to wear and it’s always interesting regardless

Not coincidentally, Elon Musk announced 16 days ago that Tesla will develop a space-ready smartwatch to travel with the Space-X module.

Seems the competition for "next watch on the moon" is going to have a heavy thumb on the scales. 👎

Worked with someone lately that was leaving a job with V-22s to work for Space X in Florida

Don't bother... a female Chinese Taikonaut will be first... probably wearing a FIYTA chronograph 😁

Well, at least Omega will still be able to say they were the first watch on the Moon. That will have some marketing value. ::stirthepot::

There are still a lot of Musk haters out there. I guess some of it stems from Tesla and his tweets and what not. One thing is fact, he could take SpaceX public and blow the doors off every other humans net worth by a factor of who knows how much. He doesn’t want to do so as it’s his baby and he doesn’t want to deal with the SEC but if he ever did I think people would be throwing cargo planes full off money at the ipo
