i failed to read this thread. anyway, im quite impressed with the return landing of the rockets with precision. will omega speedmaster be part of the spacex missions to mars in the future?
I interrupted a meeting to put the launch up on the screen. A historic day, and a step closer to becoming an interplanetary species!
I was wearing my speedmaster while watching the live stream. Definitely checked one off my bucket list. Even the animation from 2015 was spot on!
Simply Fantastic. Note sure I'm a fan of the Top Gear atmosphere.. I like a little more mystique but I guess that's not Musk's way. That dual landing was incredible. Wish they hadn't cut the cameras to the core landing though.. that would have been fun!
Core did not make it. Two of the three engines malfunctioned and it slammed into the sea at 300 mph. Rip core
That’s what I meant... apparently the cameras cut out due to the “vibrations of landing” i.e. they cut the cameras as either there was nothing to see as the failed landing overshot or else it might have been quite a spectacular splahdown on camera.
Ah probably misread the post. Iirc, there was a frame of the droneship after the crash where a piece of debris could be seen flying.
Forgot to post the picture of my speedmaster while watching the stream Old meets new. Glad to have witnessed history in the making.
