I’m sourcing for a correct bezel insert for my 1680. I’m open, or shd I say I can only afford a service insert with luminova pearl. But there are so fakes around ebay and forum prices are out of my comfort zone. I call my local RsC and was told that they will only change the bezel for me if I send my watch in for a service and the charges is starting from close to 1050 usd and exclude any parts cost. Can anyone point me to the right direction to find a bezel for my 1680? Many thanks in advance.

 

I would post in the WTB section , & do a search on google .Original tritium inserts for 1680s are not cheap though .

 

Sadly I don’t have enough posting yet to post in the wtb sections. Ya I’m aware inserts with tritium pearl is very expensive. All ready to get a service insert with lumi pearl

Looks like you need a bezel and an insert - that bezel is prettyy rough.

The below 1k Fat Font Insert days are past now.

I could get you a like new service insert with a good bezel for under 800. Fat Fonts are a lot more.

 

I'm not actually sure why you want to change it anyway, looks ok to me and kinda in keeping with a 40 odd yr old watch, in fact its much smarter than most vintage FF inserts that pop up from time to time (at crazy prices, and often having been done for 45mins @ gas mark 5...)

I like the 'sans' pearl look too on a vintage piece, so much so that I'm in the process of removing the trit' pearl from my FF insert on my 1680.

 

Dibs please if the pearl has patina .

 

Not that much of an expert on pearl 'patina', but it kinda matches the tritium plots, or at least is quite close. I have a couple of other trit' pearls loose in the bits box, will try to dig them out, see what they're like.

If you were only 'searching' or 'hunting' for a 1680 bezel you might find one at a reasonable price.

'Sourcing' is MUCH more expensive.
