Hello

I am a young watch enthusiast from Norway who loves vintage watches. I own a few Omegas and I've been wanting to get into this community. As my first post on this forum, I wanted to ask for some help. A couple of days ago I shattered the crystal on my 1947 Omega. I am not too bothered as I believe the crystal was generic since it didn't have the tiny logo in the center. I am looking for an original crystal for this, but I don't know where to start looking. I have looked and haven't found any obvious places to get them. The previous one measured 31,1mm. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Also, when did Omega start using the tiny logo in the center of the crystal?

Thank you in advance 馃榾

Welcome to the forum. Maybe one will show up on eBay or maybe someone will happen to have one for you. But if not, for a watch like this, I wouldn't drive myself crazy trying to identify an authentic and correct Omega crystal. It's not worth the time and effort IMO. It's a fine watch, but if we're honest, it's a common vintage Omega, not a 5-figure collectible.

I would have my watchmaker fit a crystal that looks good and fits well, strap it on my wrist, and enjoy my watch. It's just a crystal, and life's too short.

Let's see how the OP acts on this information. You are just taunting him. 馃榿

You make a good point about an original not being necessary @Dan S. I will fit a generic one for the time being, but I'll probably get an original at some point in the near future just because I'm too picky and won't be able to resist once I find one. 馃榾

I'll definitely keep an eye out for this crystal @Archer.

Thank you very much for your help and advice.
