Hi there, first post. Really appreciate the wealth of information provided on this board and has been great fun and informative looking through hundreds of posts on speedy's over the past months. there have been some great examples shown and deconstructing of watches posted -whats correct and whats not for different models. i was wondering if there was a site or data base of clear photos and description in detail of the different speedy models, i understand that the early 2915-2998's are variable but others should be fairly consistent. is there a site that shows detailed photos of original or 100% correct models in respect to dials/ crowns/ full calibre deconstruction with notes on parts correct to year etc... im after myself a 105.003 and have collected much information through this forum but wondering if its consolidated somewhere already... many thanks, mike
This is still the best site dedicated to Speedmasters on the internet: http://www.chronomaddox.com/ Sadly, the author of most of it, Chuck Maddox, left us over five years ago. His many friends keep this site alive as a tribute to his memory. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
We have the information you seek. But we cannot tell you. But it's in the book. But you can't buy it. Good luck.
Hey guys, please don't tease the Noobie! Give him a chance to prove himself worthy of your teasing. gatorcpa
haha tease away, im just after information, happy to purchase a book, but was looking for more online content easily accessible, http://www.chronomaddox.com/ - already had a good look around, great site many thanks mike
If you don't have it already, this is another good site for information and illustration of early pre-moons. Site is in Danish, this is Google translation. http://translate.google.com/transla...ntageure.dk/DesktopDefault.aspx%3Ftabid%3D326
Mike, there's a book coming out later this spring, "Moonwatch Only" that I think will compile exactly what you're after. In the meantime, Chronomaddox and the danish CK2998 sites will give you a good start; then the next best thing to do is to ask specific questions here. this can include posting 105.003s that you see for auction, and asking people what they think of the piece. You'll find that many members will offer you a great aggregation of insight, with someone catching one thing, and somebody else catching another!
Well, it's rumored to be coming out this spring. Just like it was coming out in December. Just like it was coming out in the fall of last year. That's what Joe K, Time Exposure, and I were joking about above.
