I'm interested to know what makes this one so nice. To me it has the wrong bezel, the hands look too new and the dial isn't especially attractive. The case looks good though - although the asking price wasn't exactly cheap. Is it all down to the case number?

i too don't understand the price. It has a badly damaged dial, which while attractive, does not warrant a price. Spots, hand damage and general deteroration of this dial point to a hard life and therefore possible movement issues.

incorrect bracelet and bezel and hands while minor issues, again are not reflected in the price.

Now I did offer, because I like a nice damaged dial(?!) but this was not quite up there with what I think as a nice dial, so my offer was rejected automatically! I did not imagine anyone would value this over 4000 but maybe I am wrong.

It all depends, as always, on the dial. Often photos make a dial look worse, with today's excellent and unforgiving macros.
