The watch I'm looking for is the 1st one on the page, Lot 1. The bezel is in decent shape, but there is only one picture and who knows if it runs and the crown doesn't look right. It has a massive crown normally. The estimated high price seems low to me, about $500 US. These are going for a lot more in NM. I wish there were more pic's. Could be a project watch, though.

Meh, most are junk. There are a couple of interesting Chronostops, a Soccer Timer, and a few divers (300m, 200m, 60m) mixed in though. Two interesting Navitimers and a few Rolex shown too.

    Lot 2, 44, 50, 60, 302, 226, 174 and 186 are pretty decent.

Is it possible that this forum organize a pooled bidding?
Say two or three of our members in UK go to the auction and bid on behalf of this forum members who interested to join and put up some deposit.
The volunteer members act as bidder may get commission based on successful bidding result.

    Just my wishful thinking.

There's a nice JLC Memovox with a gold top. Several nice Omegas.

No way I would bid without seeing the innards.

Good idea on paper, but what if none of those people are expert enough to make a call on authenticity for one of the brands a member here is interested in?

Frankly, I don't see any spectacular watches that make me wanna crack open the piggy bank. If one or two go cheap enough, sure - but if there are the usual premiums it won't be inexpensive.

    Agreed.

As I said, this is my wishful thinking. I know many factors need to be aligned before it could happened. Few willing volunteers for a start. Trust on judgement of the volunteer (including the innards). Deposit rule. Rule of late remorse etc...etc.

If (again if) this could happened, this forum may have a platform to participate in other local auctions around the world (think Sweden, Japan etc) for Omega lover members in here. Not only this one in Nottingham (which I still have interest in a few). :whistling:

With online financial transactions related to watches you need to keep it simple, and that'd just be a bit too complicated. Person to person is one thing, if you trust some guys by all means deal with them, but yea I'd avoid it otherwise.
