Recently I opened one of my older Omegas and discovered that someone wrote "B.U" on the back of the dial. What's this? A person's initials? Something from Omega? Does this prove that is/is not franken/fake... shouldn't I be worried at all?

Can someone help me out with some more details regarding this piece? History, usage, stories, you name it...

Serial no. being 143774xx, is it possible to date it more accurate than ca 1954?

Here are some pictures of the watch itself:

a dial made of the rare Butonium?? or maybe a dial pulled from BackUp inventories?

My apologies, I'm not taking much too seriously these days....

If you want more precise informations about when the watch was produced, you can order an extract from the archives of Omega (150$). No clue about that B U sign. Looks like a lot of fun.

If it happens to be a redial, it might stand for Butt Ugly.

At least it doesn't say FU on the back of the dial! :)

It's instructional: means that this side is the Back / Under side of the dial.

It could be the personal stamp of the redialing company or spare parts watch shop.

Do we know it's redialed? The OP hasn't provided a viewable photo of the front, to my knowledge.

Yes, you should be worried. It's the mark of a satanic cult - Beelzebub United - and the watch is now cursed.

Hmmm, I thought it was a typical quality-control issue for a product manufactured in the old "Boviet" Union
