Someone knows why this Eterna Matic Centenaire has a red second hand?

Hi all,

I just find several watches including this vintage Eterna Matic Centenaire 61 gold plated. I already have an Eterna but I never saw a mechanical Eterna with a red hand. I know that they produced electronic ones with the red hand.

It looks like a replacement sweep hand to me, not just the color but also the shape. TBH, given the condition of the dial, it doesn't matter much.
