Hi everyone, I have a old pocket watch moonphase, without brand.

My watchmaker found this symbol under the dial in the movement.

Someone know this symbol? Is a star with two F below.

Thank you very much pocket watch marks.jpeg.jpg

No, certainly not the Font logo. If the OP can post a photo of the dial side of the movement showing the winding and setting area, and also indicate the ligne size of the movement I can check in the Bestfit book to see if it can be identified.

    Cheers, Al

Thats a nice pocket watch. Is the case silver, and if so, what country are the hallmarks from?

That's a lot more special than most of the pocket watches we get to see

Is Stainless steel case, not silver, only a serial number in the case, and repeat the last 3 numbers in the bezel next to the movement, 447.
No idea of the year, maybe Swiss, nothing.

Sorry I missed that it was a pocket watch in your first post. Bestfit won't be much help as it only goes to about 22 lignes, where this would be more like 31 if the size you state is of the movement, and not the dial. To use the Bestfit system you would need a picture of the dial side of the movement with the hands and dial removed.

Looks like a reasonably high quality watch at likely 15 jewels. Might have gold train wheels as they look very much like tarnished gold.

Good luck as that might be difficult to identify. You could try posting in the vintage watch section on WUS, or also on the NAWCC forum pages (not the ones on WUS, but on the NAWCC's actual forums).

    Cheers, Al
