Saw that someone snagged a basically brand new Ploprof 1200M for $2750. From what I could see that is less than 1/2 the price these usually go for, and they are in worse shape. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Seamaster-Ploprof-1200M-/162225298399Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
You are thinking it's fake I am guessing? Seller does have good feedback, so I dont know if it is a scam (list, sell and never ship)
Yup the seller did not include any pictures to disprove if it is fake. No returns and deployant looks off to me. Seller has mostly recent buy history with one recent sale of a low value item. There is a reason people stayed away.
I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing that up. Always more to learn. As you were folks, nothing to see here.Mods, please delete if need be. No reason for false info on my part.
It is a scam. The pictures were lifted from here: https://www.mdshooters.com/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=29892
You have to really look at feedback. Lots of old accounts that are no longer used get compromised new person make lots of small buys to pad recent history and under a quick scan look like alright accounts. The history on this tied with no returns flags as questionable. Due diligence with reverse image search and requesting date verifiable images in many cases, is just the right thing to do. Not always but in this case it's a no brainer.
Always hate to dig up old posts but have an update regarding this. I was browsing the local Craigslist and saw this: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/jwl/5835744373.html. Perhaps the watch is in fact real. Seems like the forum where the original photos were posted is a Maryland shooting forum. The eBay listing was a seller based in Maryland, and the current Craigslist ad is also in MD.
Every time I see a thread like this, I'm reminded of the veterans' responsibility to this hobby. Yes, there are deals to be had if you know your stuff. Otherwise, the n00b tax can be several thousand.
