The annual meeting is mostly Rolex based but it looks like some quality Speedies are creeping in.
Credit for the photos is to the Passionreport.
The chocco 2998 looks amazing.
BTW I was not there.

No watch gathering is complete without at least one Speedmaster (and a Submariner too) 😀

all pre-moon's, absolutely lovely! Rolex fans are coming around
....with the current going price of vintage sport Rolex, it is not surprising. Their first target are Speedy 321 especially 2915 and 2998.
This makes vintage speedy price inflatory, heck even newer speedy price increase, too. Good news for those who has amassed many vintage speedies.

Of course it is great to see that there is love for the Speedmasters out there, I'm just sat to see that the Rolex brigade is starting to pour their money in that direction, making me obtaining one ever less likely 🙁

There does seem to be more demand for good vintage Rolex and I agree that that money seems to be going into good vintage Omega, mostly chronographs.
I also think vintage Universal Geneve and Longines are picking up, or maybe I'm just noticing them more?

Agree on UG, slightly disagree on Longines. I think a few others that have increased tremendously are Blancpain (specifically the Aqua Lungs / Fifty Fathoms), Heuer (the Rolex crowd has shifted into Carreras and compressor Autavias, unfortunately), and LeCoultre (specifically the Deep Sea Alarm). Not meant to be an all-encompassing list, just a few names that I've seen go sky-high lately in addition to 321 Speedies.

If you follow the real money Longines has risien as fast or faster than many of the listed but specifically the chronos and larger sizes. Try buying a Lindbergh or nice 13Z. m

Yep...chronographs with stepped cases and Calatrava-styled watches have also become more popular/expensive. 🙁

Fair enough. I readily admit that I don't follow vintage Longines, so didn't realize they'd also followed the hockey stick pricing trend.

I think 1960s watches are all kind of heading upwards these days, as the 1970s-style cases haven't had a full-fledged return yet. Everything changed with the invention of quartz, even design - so I think with the resurgent interest in mechanical watches, the "classic" chronos are heading upwards in value first. Next will be tonneau-case Autavias and Camaros, I think. Even early asymmetric-case Speedmasters will go up further, though there might be a limit to it as ~90% of that aesthetic can still be had new from an AD or OB...
