The Speedmaster has the best ambassador in the world – The Moon. Since 1962 the Speedmaster has played a role in space exploration and in 1965 it became the official watch to wear during EVA. But the Speedmaster can also be seen on the wrists of many other ambassadors. Brands using ambassadors isn’t exactly something […] Visit Some Of The Best Speedmaster Ambassadors to read the full article.
The King of The Netherlands! Learnt something from every article you wrote RJ! Thanks for another fun and informative article!
George Clooney has put the Speedmaster in front of more viewers than perhaps anybody else. Except maybe Buzz. I watched Aldrin walk on the moon. Yeah, I'm that old.
Funny...I like the Speedmaster despite the moon and the celebrities and whatnot. It's a good design that stands out on its own merit, not because of some bozos (and I include myself in that) or a rock in space.
Clooney is certainly mentioned and Craig has not been seen with a Speedmaster (although I know he has one).
The best Speedmaster ambassadors are on this forum. Countless beautiful example everyday. OF’ers directed me to the Speedmaster. George Clooney? I don’t care.
Besides James Ragan… Does anyone know any of these people ? https://www.revolution.watch/omega-london-gala-marks-50th-anniversary-of-apollo-11-moon-landing/
I love RJ and Fratello, but cmon.... the only Speedmaster ambassadors worth mentioning are the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Astronauts that wore the Speedmaster into space and on the Moon.
You read the article, right? "For us watch enthusiasts, those ambassadors barely make sense. George Clooney often tells about his interest in the Moon program and that he watched the Moon landing in 1969. But so did my dad. For us watch enthusiasts, we rather are inspired by those who actually used the watch in space ". ;-)
Ryan Reynolds has been low key rocking a dsotm for the last few months....he would be a great ambassador.
The current Omega ambassadors are to obvious being Omega ambassadors, for me it has an opposite effect... It's better to focus on spontaneous/historic people who wore an Omega Speedmaster... for example: Belgian song writer/singer turned actor Jacques Brel had two Omega Speedmaster chronographs (1965 - 105.003 and 1967 - 145.012). He was also a keen pilot and owned two aircraft during his life time, one a twin engined Beech Bonanza F-ODBU .
It's far more likely that the average person will know some of the others, than know who James Ragan is. Omega as a company would be dead if it relied solely on space geeks as their only source of sales...
