...like even watches that are still available for MSRP on the website.

The Aquastars started shipping this week, and I bet this guy was just so excited that he eagerly scampered to his computer to use stock imagery and try to jack up the price.

The Deepstar Reedition is still available at aquastar.ch for US $2,790 - $200 less than this loser set as his starting bid.

It should also be said that this guy is asking an additional $40 US for shipping, while Synchron offers free shipping.

It's so difficult for me to not send an abusive message thru eBay...

At least he took photos of the watch, and didn’t just borrow the manufacturer’s... ::stirthepot::

Go ahead and send a message. I do it all the time.

Case 1: Keyword Spam. A lot of people are looking for NOS vintage Gillette razors, especially the Fat Boy. So we say listing titles like "Gillette Fat Boy with Case and NOS Blade."

Case 2: Profiteering. As we know, SS Rolexes are hard to find. MSRP for an OP 41 is $5,900. Here's a recent eBay listing:

The "Tiffany Dial" in the title is just more keyword spam. Rolex doesn't use that term.

Pretty sure I have one of these in a box in my garage - not NOS, but still in the plastic case.

I had no idea anyone would have an interest in vintage razors but just did an ebay search after seeing your post.

I'm a little surprised and wonder what the appeal is.

There is a huge number of people that like to shave with "safety" razors vs cartridge because it "gives a better shave". Personally I'm not at all convinced of that, and the risk to my skin keeps me from trying.

I realized after replying that since I have a beard and shave <1/4 of my face 2 - 3 times a week, it’s not surprisIng that the vintage razor interest is lost on me.

Been using a safety razor since I was 16, chucked the Remington electric triple rotor face grinder my father gave me in the trash and never looked back.
I have incredibly sensitive skin and I can't shave with anything else or I break out in a rash. The single blade is not only reusable far longer than any of the multi-blade things, but far more hygienic as the skin cells and bacteria catching crap rinses off far more easily- less crannies to hide in.

It's true but preparation is key. I shave (around the beard) in the shower and use Speick shave lube from Germany (I buy it from Amazon in the US).

But a good safety razor with one blade can do a lot better than some fancy-pants thing with half a dozen.

I have a thick wiry beard and sensitive skin; straight razors are a thing of horror to me. Patchy shave with blood and a rash? Let me just get one of these 16-blade razors please

Safety razors are different from straight razors. It has a razor blade set at an angle, sometimes adjustable. Not that different from a multi-blade Gillette, for instance.

I'd love to get a beard trim by an expert, but as we have to wear a mask everywhere, until at least next year, I'll just have to do it myself.
Only need to shave under my chin now so that's a benefit.

I'm sorry, but that's insane. What rational person in his or her right mind would pay nearly 225% for a steel watch with a novelty dial?

Like a Daytona for instance, I know, it’s crazy but people do!
