I am sure members will find this info interesting/helpful.

Here are 5 examples of 1970 Pre-moon Speedies that I have owned during this past year.
Interesting to see that the one with the earliest production date out of the bunch has the highest serial number and a 220 bezel...

Jan 31.00X.XXX

March 29.115.XXX (X2, less than 200 numbers apart).

April 29.6XX.XXX

August 30.58X.XXX

Interesting! Did you upload the numbers here? :

I will. But as you can see, they are all over the map.
For example, the January one with the 220 bezel is off by a year on ilovemyspeedmaster

The chronology of the serials/production date on the other 4 makes sense. Almost to the point that I think that maybe the Omega Museum made a mistake on the extract year and it should be January 4 1971 (???).

I will e-mail them and ask.

Certainly possible - the earliest 145.022-69 models have 28.42xxxx movements; one I had had an Extract dating it to the first week of January 1970. Don’t remember specifically but I want to say it was Jan 6, 1970

What extracts we have so far:

29.1mil SNs' are all round 03/04 of 1970.
29.6mil SN's are mostly round 05/06 of 1970 (with 1 in 11)
30.5mil SN's are round 09/10/11 of 1970.
31mil SN extracts are in 1971.

Doesn't prove anything we don't already know : random bin theory Omega used means its not really possible to predict a production date with certainty (but it is good enough and should be close enough for the majority).

I would be more than happy to add these absolutely killer pieces' extracts to the website...

Merry Xmas folks.

You're probably right, my "220" 30'597'XXX is from october 1970 and MWO states that they were produced mostly last quarter 1970.

I e-mailed the Museum and asked them to double check that a mistake was not made on the extract.
Will update as soon as I hear back.

Turns out they did make a mistake as I suspected.
The production Year is 1971. New replacement extract in on the way. 👍

Poor show really. Makes you wonder how many other mistakes they have made.

Human nature = making mistakes...we all do it. I would be surprised if the OP had to pay for his new extract however...kudo's given to admission and rectification.
