I just got my Speedy’s back from the spa, one being slightly more special than the other. Both were purchased from a watchmakers estate years ago before the market madness set in. The chocolate dial is absolutely flawless with the tritium markers fully intact which have developed a nice orange patina. When exposed to natural sunlight, the dial completely transforms as the chocolate colors are revealed. The caseback still has the original purple film intact, which is amazing given its age. And the case looks unpolished to my eyes. The DON bezel has also aged nicely with a slight fade. The ‘71 black dial is also quite beautiful and pleasing to the eye. It’s all original and the tritium on the dial and hands have beautiful cream patina. I enjoy wearing both as part of my rotation. Happy new year to everyone.
A couple of wrist shots of mine purchased a few days before Christmas... awaiting a new strap in charcoal leather with brown stitching from Stewart at Heuerville to compliment this amazing watch. Hope you like!
