I recently found my grandfather's old watch. It's an automatic but has no discernible brand or markings on the face. I opened it up and found a logo that reads "AS" on the movement. Can anyone provide me with information about that logo? I know it is not an expensive watch. I'm just really interested in figuring this out.

Google A. Schild, lots of information on this prolific maker of watch movements.

My guess would be A. Schild, which was one of the largest ebauche movement manufacturers and later merged with ETA.

Looks to me like AS 1816, or similar. Image from the Ranfft archive.
