·I don't really want to part with this one, but since I've recently bought a second Ploprof and a second 5513, something's got to go, plus I have a couple more of this model already so...
Omega Seamaster 300; case ref: 165.024; Cal 552 Automatic with original box.
A really very nice example of this iconic dive watch. The patina on the dial, hands and bezel are awesome and match beautifully.
The case is definitely unpolished with crisp edges and the original factory finish visible.
I had this serviced a couple of years ago when I bought it and had a new crystal, crown and back seal fitted at the same time (original crystal is included and is the correct original early 60's type). All parts genuine Omega.
Points to note:
The bezel is one of the nicest I've seen but, as usual, does have a small split (has happened to most of these and is caused by slight shrinking of the insert due to age). Luckily this one runs exactly along the 15min marker and is hard to see.
I did originally wonder if it had been relumed as the hour markers and hands glow slightly more brightly than most tritium of this vintage, but even after inspecting it with a loupe I am undecided - it looks original to me. The photos here show it many times its original size so you are welcome to comment!
The 18...... serial number of the movement date it to '63/'64 at the latest, so right at the very beginning of this references production run. I believe the early models originally came with candlestick hands.
I had the serial number verbally checked with Omega soon after purchase and they did confirm it to be matched with a Seamaster 300, but wouldn't give me a date without purchasing an extract of the archive.
The red box is in poor shape but came with the watch.
If you have any questions or want more photos - don't hesitate.
