1958 2278, sold yesterday for $1,275. Dial and hands look honest to me and the case appears to be unpolished. Dent on the case back. Seller represented that the movement had recently been serviced and was running well and keeping good time (not worth much without service records, I know). The reset pusher had fallen off and was included with the watch (see the 2nd photo). Seller was not sure what needed to be done to facilitate the repair. I did not bid because I happened on the listing shortly before it expired and had no time to do my research. What do you think: junk or missed opportunity?

Something in between, I think.

Cal. 320 chronos are a fair bit less desirable than 321s and the dial & hands condition, fallen-off pusher(!) and messy movement makes this a certain pass for me. The case condition looks good though.

A tired looking watch coupled with a cock and bull story....hmm...doesn't look or sound like a good deal to me.

As for serviced...well a pusher has at some point fallen off and just look at the regulator 🙄

Although I am not an expert, I agree it does not in any way look like a recently serviced movement. (The mechanism near the column wheel does not look like it has been cleaned in years.)

I had similar thoughts. Case looked good to me, but otherwise a pretty tired example. Someone thought it was worth $1,275 though! That’s more than what I paid for a nice vintage 167.005 Connie on a BOR bracelet!

That may be a miscased watch. The dial is not centered in the case and appears to move around.

Follow the outer rim of the tachometer track.

Good catch.
