    Fellow watch enthusiasts,

I am selling my mint condition Heuer 02 Chrono. I traded an Omega Bond chronograph for this watch from a reputable dealer. Service history is unknown, but the watch came with a 2-year dealer warranty (valid still) and production was 2017 and later, so it doesn't need anything. I acquired the watch June 1, 2021.

Watch size is 42mm, with a column wheel movement and 80 hour reserve. Date is at six o'clock in the running seconds subdial and is very subtle but legible. The watch has no damage that I can discern, but see the photographs. It has sharp edges, beautiful finishing, and no scratches. It looks like new. The watch is on an after market bracelet (OK, that may be a bit cheesy) but the original signed, distressed strap is included. I will also include a number of 21mm straps of various types.

Included: outer box, inner box, Heuer 02 Instruction booklet, guarantee and (questionable unsigned) card, signed leather strap, a collection of other straps, and my receipt from dealer.

Price is $2,900 USD. Shipping costs by buyer and vary according to location, insurance coverage, and the like. I am trying raise funds for another purchase, so no trades are needed. Returns only if the watch has been grossly misrepresented.

Jochen Rindt - Siffert is white face with black sundials and blue accents (common is that both drivers were killed, Rindt posthumously winning the 1970 F1 championship…

@Kiwibloke , thanks for the clarification. I’ve thought it was a Jochen Rindt since I bought it, but all the early articles seem to refer to the watch as a Siffert. I hadn’t considered that the b/w vs w/b was the cause of confusion.

@Watch my Whisky , thanks for the encouragement! Someone here in OF world would love to wear this beauty.

Great avatar you have @High Hope - stunning early Porsche that both Siffert and Rindt could have driven... I'm very familiar with the Siffert Autavia having just sold my 1163T in Siffert colours... he wore the very first Autavia Chronomatic...

@Kiwibloke , thanks for the reply, and wow, that watch you sold is a beauty. 356s and 911s are my area of interest. Go to the beautiful exceptional cars thread and do a search for High Hope. There are some photos of cars that have come through my life.
    Regards,
    Chris

Seppi was a real wheeler-dealer. He had an agreement with Jack Heuer to buy watches at wholesale and sell them for whatever he could from anyone in the race-track paddock. He also had it written into the contracts with the teams he raced for that he could put Heuer decals on his cars and on his racing overalls (uniform). He then told Jack that as he (Seppi) owned a Porsche dealership that Jack really should be driving a Porsche so again a deal was done

@Kiwibloke and @MRC, the guy driving on the left here is Sobiesław Zasada driving a borrowed factory 912. He was European Rally Champion in Group1. Amazing for a 95 bhp four-banger.

I'm more impressed that the 1953 champion was in a 36bhp DKW 896cc Sonderclass two-stroke.

Did you you know Jim Clark's first race was in a similar DKW belonging to a friend of his?

Jim Clark and legends. The one I heard was that he won his first race in a borrowed 356 pre-A...
Speaking of 2-stroke DKWs, I lived in Sweden in the late 60s and early 70s. 2-Stroke SAABs, DKWs, Wartbergs abounded, blatting and smoking throughout Europe. The good old days!

Heavy edit: The first race he won was in the 356. I was thinking of the actual first race.

I have my copy of Ian Scott-Watson's autobiography [*] to hand -- with personal cover letter. The Porsche 356 was the next car he bought for Jim to race, followed by the white Jaguar D-type with the "Border Reivers" team. Then came the first Lotus Elite of the three that Scott-Watson eventually owned. I talked to him to help identifying the one believed to have been one of his after I took a close look at it in New Zealand. It certainly was an Elite that had been raced, and had a body/chassis number one different to his recollection, but a lot of other details matched. So the conclusion we came to was that it was his first Elite and there had been a "paperwork mixup" -- which wasn't entirely unknown though the history of Lotus' racing cars.

Several inquiries, but not sure if they are serious or just kicking the tires. What’s wrong w the advert? Watch? Feedback appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing wrong I can see on my end, this is probably the cheapest one I have seen- full kit. Only thing keeping me from buying it is my lack of funds due to being a responsible adult right now….adulting sucks.

There is currently an original vintage version for sale on eBay that just surpassed 6k with two days left. Your price and package are very attractive for those that want vintage design without the associated buy in price. Tag did a very good job tastefully remaking this one. If I wasn’t a full time student, I would consider this one myself.

The market is slower at the moment but you’ll eventually find the right buyer
