This 2887 is a seldom seen reference being the only screwback case ref for the cal 501 and 505 1950´s Constellations, the rest being snap back cases. By some estimations only 1% of the 501/505 Constellations came in this case type. The pie pan dial has a very unique and distinctive burnt patina which some will love and some will possibly hate! I personally love it The 16 mil. cal. 505 movement is from about 1958, running well although I have no service history for it. The crown is not correct for this reference and there is a scratch around 11´0´clock on the crystal ( pic.2 ) Euro 1100 No trades. Desmond wrote a very interesting article on this elusive reference here: http://omega-constellation-collecto.../omega-constellation-black-sheep-returns.html Any questions don´t hesitate to ask.
Thank you, I'm stoked, and I feel very fortunate; can't wait to get it on my wrist.. Thank you, Omega Forum, and thank you, Chris!
This is a watch I'd love to see in person as patina, many times, doesn't photograph well. I bet it will look much richer in person!
