·Rolex Datejust Ref. 1603, SN 4,13x,xxx (circa 1974), “Sigma” dial
Price: $3675 shipped fully insured to U.S. and Canada addresses
Details
Dial: Gorgeous silver sunburst dial. White print. Sigma symbols below the six hour marker. All lume dots are fully intact and perfectly match the handset. Silver date wheel.
Case: Case is strong showing good lines and was likely to have been lightly polished in the past. Lugs are quite sharp and brushing on top is still present. 36mm diameter. Reference and serial numbers are well defined. IBM “Quarter Century Club” dedication on the caseback dated 1977.
Movement: Cal. 1570 automatic
Bezel: Distinctive engine-turned bezel
Bracelet: Original Rolex USA jubilee bracelet. Significant stretch.
Accessories: None
Condition: The dial on this vintage Datejust is nearly flawless. Typically one will see some missing and/or decayed lume plots on a Ref. 1603 of this era, but not on this example. Some evenly distributed oxidation is present on the seconds hand; hour and minute hands are clean.. Jubilee bracelets from the 1970s usually show significant stretch; the bracelet installed on this Datejust is no different. Though the watch winds and keeps good time a service is highly recommended. [Service history is unknown].
Notes: The Rolex Datejust is a timeless classic and a true workhorse in the Rolex family of watches. Some watches have an “X Factor,” that little something that sets them apart. Sigma dials occupy this category and will always be highly sought after.
Terms and conditions of sale: Three-day return policy if the timepiece purchased is not the one pictured, or as described. A returned timepiece will be scrutinized in detail to make sure no parts have been altered or damaged in any way. Buyer is responsible for the cost of postage and insurance of any returned item. All international sales are final -- No Exceptions.
Outgoing shipments are packaged carefully and sent fully insured via USPS, UPS or FedEx (with Parcel Pro). If your package is lost or stolen, a refund will be issued after the insurance claim has been approved. A face-to-face transaction is possible if you live in or are visiting Southern California (Los Angeles).
