Omega Seamaster Chronograph 145.006-66 with late number 321 movement Pros Original owner owned until 2013, 321 Seamaster I believe in original condition. Undamaged original TT tachymetre dial, with full Tritium lume present in dial and original hands (see lume shot) Very nice patina. Original pushers. No evidence of case over-polishing.. Original B2 (MWO)32 point crown, 6.75mm. This crown is also found as original on 105.012 and 145.012 Speedmasters. Very late 321 movement which looks, runs and resets well. One of the last Omega Seamasters using the 321 caliber movement. 2654xxxx movement could be a donor movement for 145.012 (67 or 68 perhaps) and also 105.003-65. Grey Ostrich strap in good condition matches dial nicely Cons: see pics attached Original crystal is lightly scratched and has a small dent over number 10 on the minute subregister. Can perhaps be polished out. A new crystal would certainly enhance the look of the dial. Original owner, deceased in 2013, had her name and address professionally engraved on the caseback. In the 1960's, people expected their lost belongings to be returned. Engraving is worn down from years of wear and not obtrusive. I like it. Some may not. Slight degradation on red chrono hand at stem. Although watch and Chrono appear to run well, no recent service history and a service is recommended. A little TLC and a new crystal and this watch would be tippy top. Dial looks minty and case unpolished. Nice Barn Find!
Took @Varnado's advice. Visited WM. Pulled the dial for a photo and what a difference. Except for some small scratches in the seconds subregister, the original dial and hands look awesome. Original matching lume. Nice patina. Case took a bath and all the old crude is gone. Dent in crystal was deemed not salvageable. New crystal and gasket arrive by week's end. Who wants it??
I knew that dial was going to be minty. The old plastic crystals tend to get micro fractures in them that cannot be polished out. When looking through them at a dial you cannot get a true representation of the dial condition. I think that watch is actually very cool.. 321 movement is almost worth that much alone these days...
