Saw this one today as well. It's overpriced IMHO, but HQ Milton does have some watches on consignment so that might explain the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just based my comment on the photo but yes they are modern replacements that have been aged to match the lume. Just pointing out a notable point especially if one is to ask that type of money for the piece.
And . . . it's SOLD! Even with a non original hand set! I'd say I was happy about what the sale implies about my the value of my BT 165.024, but then that would only be relevant if I was considering selling it! Which will not happen! Lol
Gemini4 has more experience with BTs then I, but i believe the BTs are less common than the numerical 12 versions, and he suggested earlier that $6800 ish for an original BT would be a fair! And this one just sold quickly at that number with replacements hands! So, I'd say the BT would be the more collectable, and therefore, more. Valuable!
I'm waiting for my second Big Triangle No Date to arrive. It is a one owner watch having belonged to an Australian who purchased it while a soldier in Viernam in the early 70's. Quite excited.
Congrats!! I'd Love to see more pics when it arrives! My watchmaker is finally back from his winter home in Mexico, so mine will be heading in for a long overdue servicing. Can't wait to get it back on my wrist!
I'm still depressed about missing out on this one: https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-300-big-triangle-what-do-you-think.35572/
Priced at $6750 and sold in 1 day, tells me it was priced correctly for the attributes it has. Beautiful dial, very nice bezel, nice case, hands disclosed and color matched nicely. I was surprised it made it to the HQ site. They have current customers always looking for SM 300s.
