I was watching this auction on a Swedish site for a black dialed Omega Suveran with the 30T2 movement and I believe they came with a 2400 case. I know these were made especially for the Swedish market. It sold for 19,625 Swedish kr(approx 1900€). I’m aware that black dials don’t crop up as often, but isn’t €1900 a high price? That would get you a very nice constellation. Is there more to a black Suveran than meets the eye?
I sold a couple of good ones to the Museum several years ago for a price not so much below this one, so I guess prices are catching up. The one above seems to be in excellent condition, which is rare, and seems to be a little brown too? Crazy prize, no doubt. But craziness is all over the vintage watch theater at the moment, so why not these?
I guess it ticks the boxes for originality and condition that’ll get you a long way in the market. .......maybe someone also needed the perfect Christmas gift.
Sometimes we lust......Kyle for this Suveran, I lust for a Signal Corps, we all have a beauty we are reaching for! Thank goodness we reach in different directions or they would all be priced like Speedmasters. I love it, young man!
It looks really nice and original with a great colour on the lume. It would be interesting to see what it looks like with a new/ polished glass, I’m sure the dial will look amazing. Enjoy.
I was on it too but got lost pretty quick after the bidding war started. It did get much higher than I expected but I’m pretty sure it will be standard price in just few years. Great watch anyway, and congrats @kyle L .
I happy i got my Suverän's years back when nobody cared about them and prices were low Checked my archives, got this Suverän in 2013 for 310$
Is that the result of a polish or a replaced crystal? If it's polished, about how long does it take to get this kind of result? It looks great.
@kyle L Amazing piece! Looks very nice! I definitely think the Suverän are still underrated today, and your price paid will soon reflect the market. Enjoy that beauty!
Congrats to an awesome watch! However, I have to admit I am a bit sad. This watch have produced a lot of talk in Sweden and Suveräns suddenly jumped from 5ish kSEK to 10-20KSEK. I have not yet got a Suverän and like 5ish better... Wonder what non-suverän omegas from the same era are worth now...? Threads are more fun with pics... My non-suverän from the same era.
Honestly, I highly doubt it. They aren't really that rare on this side of the pond. I have owned four different Suveräns in good to excellent condition, and I have never even paid close to what the OP paid. A very nice watch, nonetheless!
