Thanks to a very graceful fellow watch collector (though not an Omega collector), that put me in touch with his watchmaker who was looking to sell a few watches from his personal collection, I was able to land this outstanding example of an untouched CK2915-3 Speedmaster. The watchmaker bought it years ago off the wrist of the original owner. He left the watch as it was taken off the original owner's wrist. Untouched. He never serviced it or even cleaned it, and it sat in his safe for all of these years until about a week ago when it came to my possession. The dial is probably one of the nicest and most well preserved CK2915 dials in existence. It is absolutely perfect. The movement is pristine and it doesn't look like any of the screws have ever been turned since the watch left the factory. The subdial hands are clean and free of any chips that are typical for hands that have been removed and re-installed due to service. This watch is just sublime in every way. I took a few photos of it in its "AS IS" condition for you to enjoy. Now the question is; would you leave it AS IS? Or clean off the Wrist Cheese and polish that plexi so the full beauty of the dial can show through? Part of me wants to leave it and enjoy it as it is...
I know nothing about Speedmasters. But this one leaves me weak in the knees and feeling woozy all over!
I have a slightly empty nauseous feeling. My recent bargain purchase of the 105.012-66 CB feels so inadequate now.
earlier movement number. not in the Archives. and in the middle of the known movement numbers for that model. enjoy yours; it is very stunning ! kind regards. achim
